I have used CERCOR's early elementary math handbooks and like the over-all theme of making math come alive by showing its applications. That is a great way to get kids interested. I wish more of my teachers had done that. What I like most about the whole packet is that it is grounded in psychology (e.g. positive reinforcement, trying to understand where the child is coming from etc.).
